Am\u00e9rica Latina<br \/><\/strong>27.06-30.07.2024<\/p><p><em>Libre Acceso. Espacio p\u00fablico contempor\u00e1neo en Am\u00e9rica Latina<\/em>, first exhibited at the Centro Cultural La Moneda (Santiago, Chile), examines the transformation of public space in Latin America. Through seven short films, it presents urban and architectural interventions that reinvent collective life in the most urbanized region on the planet. The project is curated by FIG Projects (Fabrizio Gallanti and Francisca Insulza) and will be presented at<em> arc en r\u00eave<\/em> in 2026.<\/p><p>The exhibition refutes the sometimes simplistic image of Latin America as a vast territory of low occupation where the jungle, the pampas, the highlands and the desert seem to be the most striking elements. On the contrary, Latin America turns out to be the most urbanized area on the planet, with 80% of its inhabitants concentrated among its cities. Within the intensity of Latin American cities, the exhibition presents ways in which new collective places are born orhow existing ones are transformed to provide shared and enriching experiences for their inhabitants.Libre Acceso. Espacio p\u00fablico contempor\u00e1neo en Am\u00e9rica Latina aims to make visible the commonalities and differences with which architectural strategies respond to citizen wishes to make spaces their own. The exhibition is based on seven themes, presented through a series of movies, dedicated to an exemplary site, commissioned to authors from Latin America, complemented by printed documentation, in the format of cahiers, of a total of 80 contemporary projects. For the Arquiteturas Film Festival, the seven short movies are presented as a continuous loop.
