\u2018Cl\u00e9rigos Passage\u2019, with students from Graduate School of Architecture, Konkuk University (Seoul, Korea).\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\\\"font-weight: 400;\\\">The Cl\u00e9rigos hillside, once the limit of the Medieval city wall, became an important residential and commercial centre as the city expanded northwards. On the top of the slope we find the Cl\u00e9rigos Church, designed by Nicolau Nasoni and completed in 1750. On the bottom, the Pra\u00e7a da Liberdade, one of the city\u2019s most important squares. The top and bottom of the slope is connected by three \u2018parallel\u2019 streets: the main street Rua dos Cl\u00e9rigos; Rua de Tr\u00e1s (literally, \u2018back street\u2019, narrower than the latter); and the Rua dos Caldeireiros (which bends, following the topography). These streets are delimited by narrow 3-5 storeys houses on each side, forming continuous urban blocks that in some cases contain courtyards within.
