Aprender a Desaprender

On the 13th of June, the new book “Aprender a Desaprender” was launched by Dafne Editora, in partnership with INSTITUTO . The presentation of these “dialogues for the decolonization of architecture” was the occasion for a conversation between Kitty Furtado, André Tavares and the publication's editor Paulo Moreira.

This book is a simple and powerful contribution to understanding the paths, methods and approaches that a new generation is using to position architecture in the debate on decolonization. It brings together contributions from Ibiye Camp, Margarida Waco, Mónica de Miranda, Luísa Santos, Banga Colectivo, Cartografia Negra, Natache Sylvia Iilonga, Thaís Andrade, Gabriela Leandro Pereira, Lara Isa Costa Ferreira, Demas Nwoko and Anyibofu Nwoko Ugbodaga.

Support: This is one of the 45 projects supported by the “Art for Democracy” program, an initiative of the Commission for the Commemoration of 50 years of April 25th in partnership with the General Directorate for the Arts. The “Art for Democracy” program promotes artistic projects that contribute to reflection on the importance of this event in the construction of democracy. It is aimed at artistic projects in the areas of visual arts (architecture, plastic arts, design, photography and new media); performing arts (circus, dance, music, opera and theater); street arts; and disciplinary crossover.
