Drawing on extensive research into the intersection of technology and culture, Sara Orsi presents an experimental interrogation of power structures instrumentalised for control and exclusion, exposing the precarity faced by marginalised communities within these systems. Open Structures proposes subversive action as a strategy for inclusion, using selected images from YouTube videos of alternative architectures, system hacking, and acts of resistance.
The installation, curated by Paulo Moreira, was on view at Canal 180, as part of Bienal de Fotografia do Porto and Arquiteturas Film Festival.
It included moments of conversation with the artist and invited guests.
