“At the end of 2018, almost ten years after my first expedition to Latin America, I set off in search of its north: from Mexico to Peru, through Central America. A six-month journey on an astounding road, my focus mainly on the cultural beauty of this small portion of the conti- nent. My first destination? Mexico, having landed there on a mission to cross over to Peru. I was told I was crazy, that I couldn’t go through the deadly triangle (El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua). Overcome by fear, I purchased an airplane ticket from Guatemala to Costa Rica. Later, however, my intuition prevailed. I knew I had to cross all those countries and stay faithful to my vision. The flight left without me and, the following day, it was time to board a Chicken Bus heading for the first stop on the deadly triangle: La Libertad, El Salvador. On a Chicken Bus I travelled through roads and borders, and found the path I was searching for.”
