“Handmade: The skin I live in'' is a visual inventory of textures, colours and materials that compose three fishing districts on the banks of the Tagus and Coina rivers. The informal, marginalized architecture is often associated with illegal occupation. It does not follow rules or regulations and it is made by non-experts. The main goal of these constructions is to answer quickly and economically the demands of its residents. Ana Paisano creates a narrative of images that shows the processes of many of these architectures, seeking in situ solutions of mutuality, archetypes or just points of contact between two realities: a conventional and marginalized architecture.”
