Interwoven Spaces
02-03.05.2024
As a result of their residency at INSTITUTO, the artistic duo Leonid Keller held an open studio on the 2nd and 3rd of May, presenting “Interwoven Spaces - Traversing Handcraft, Cognition, and the Social Fabric”. The installation highlighted some of the processes of his research at the Portalegre Tapestry Manufactory and his visit to the last weavers of the Cobertor de Papa de Maçainhas, showing the work created with the weavers and their production processes, with a holistic approach to techniques and materials.
Julia Ossko and Eugen Schulz live and work in Berlin, Germany, and have been collaborating as a duo under the name Leonid Keller since 2013.
The project was funded by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut.
