This is the first public presentation of an art and research project, focused on residencies, artistic production and exhibitions, by Lino Damião and Nelo Teixeira, Angolan artists based in Lisbon, curated by Paulo Moreira. 

Following a process of exploration of the "Chicala Observatory" archive and residency periods between Porto and Lisbon, the exhibition presents a body of work about the identity and memory of the artists, questioning their integration in the Portuguese territory. "Kubanga Kukatula'' means "to assemble and disassemble" in kimbundu, referring to the transitory condition of the artists' personal paths. Themes such as the decontextualization of art and racial representativity in Portuguese society are departure points in this first phase of the project.
