QUINZENA '24: NATURE AND CRAFTSMEN
20 - 30.01.2024
Quinzena is a mini-festival of architecture, urban culture and spatial practices, organized annually by INSTITUTO. The 2024 edition reflects on the relationship between nature and the art of building. The Anthropocene seemed to mirror the human triumph over nature, but the climate crisis and its increasingly obvious manifestations have forced us to rethink systems, techniques and materials. This is what we're doing at Quinzena'24, where architects, artists, designers, landscape architects and researchers are presenting projects that address these issues. This installation shows pieces representing the work of Alexandre Delmar, Irena Übler, Miguel Marcelino, Paulo Palma and Rita Catarino, Renato Cruz Santos, Studio8 (Patrícia Gomes + Luís Lima) and ursa (Margarida Quintã + Luís Ribeiro da Silva). At the opening, some of the participants will present their projects and take part in a conversation. The program also includes a digital mediation, which highlights dialogues between humans and nature, through the relationship between landscape and the use/reuse of resources. As well as recording the installation at the INSTITUTO, the digital exhibition is complemented by exclusive content on the Museu da Paisagem’s [Landscape Museum] website.
